Scream 4 was quite good

Scream 4 was quite good. In typical Scream fashion, the fourth installment satirized the horror genre for a new, some might say more sophisticated generation of movie goers. What the movie lacked in "horror" it made up for in witty dialogue, a plausible storyline and fantastic casting choices. Scream 4 was a lot of fun, something that the third film in the franchise seemed to forget, is an integral part of the movie's appeal. Scream was a post-modern, self referential horror movie that was quirky and funny while at the same time mixing in some genuine scares throughout. The latest in the franchise achieves the same level of "quirky and funny" although the scare factor was a little lacking. No complaints from me though, as I was thoroughly entertained and I'm glad to see this legendary series wrapped up so nicely and shown the respect it deserved, by producing a quality 4th entry that seemed to care just as much about the "Scream legacy" as it does about entertaining. Well done. Scream 4 is highly recommended for fans of the series and even those who arent too familiar with the previous installments. As a stand alone film, Scream 4 easily rivals the first 2 films as the series' best.
