Really enjoying Suck it And See, although I'm not a huge fan of the album title. I feel dirty  just by typing it. Anyways, this song immediately made an impression on me.

At the risk of sounding uncool, I'll admit something to you, dear reader. I fucking love pop music. Well, no I shouldn't say that. I mean, I have a certain taste in music, and it's generally not pop-oriented, but I can't deny a good song when I hear it, just because of it's "genre." And, I'm a sucker for a good pop song. No, no, lets just leave the "pop" part out, I'm a sucker for a good song. Yeah, that's better.

In the meantime, we try to forget that nothing lasts forever

An old art teacher once told me that true art, like literature, is simply about conveying information. There's no limit to how much or how little "information" you present, but you're either successful or you're not. Simple as that.

Does the audience understand what you're trying to communicate when they view your work? If so yes, and if not, well then please try again.

Sometimes less is more.

I'm reminded of this when I look at the breathtaking simplicity of Olly Moss' "Paper Cuts."

Here's Bon Iver covering Bonnie Raitt's classic "I Cant Make You Love Me" which is the ultimate unrequited love/break-up song. I actually prefer this version to some other covers of the song I've come across through the years by George Michael and Prince, respectively. This performance is from Jimmy Fallon last week and it's certainly made a fan out of me (Of Bon Iver, not Fallon. Never Fallon). What says you about it? New (Expirmental?) Kid Cudi

New music from The Wizard, Kid Cudi. It's from his upcoming experimental foray into alternative rock ala Lupe and Japanese Cartoon.
And to be honest, it's fucking weird. I hope it's a grower and not a shower because I'm not really feeling it on the first few listens. Oh well. At least the Cudder man is trying new, different things musically which has to be commended. But maybe he should have stuck with what brought him to the dance. I duno. You be the judge.



In related news, Cudi will be in Toronto July 30th at the Molson Amphitheater. You better believe I'll be there, although I hope he leaves "Perfect Is The World" off the set list.

*Optimistic Update!* I'm on/about the 6th listen and I'm still not sure what Cudi's trying to say but the song actually is starting to grow on me. Cowards run awayyyyy. ah hah. Cowards run awaaaaaaay. It would work better in the traditional Cudi style, but it's not horrible as it is.
